About Us

Gloucestershire Exterior Cleaning is a small local business and has been established for just under 5 years now. We are a team of three and pride ourselves on our hard work and dedication to achieving the best results.

We believe in going above and beyond for the client and always trying our hardest to exceed expectations. Our business model is to rely on word of mouth and for you to recommend us to your friends and family, so we like to leave an impression and ensure you have got the most out of our visit.

All of our staff are friendly, professional and there to help. We are all fully insured to work on your home and have years of experience in the exterior cleaning industry. We are constantly going on new courses to expand our knowledge of new equipment and chemicals that are coming into the market and how it could improve your home or premises. We have invested a lot of money on equipment and are constantly re-investing into the business.

Our team is comprised of George, Joe and Oliver. You won’t catch any of us with a frown on our faces as we love what we do.

We only use industrial grade equipment as shown in the picture above. We use petrol engines and diesel boiler units for steam cleaning to ensure we achieve the best results on your project.

The Abbey Mill (Tewkesbury)

Well, this was an interesting job. Being able to work on a property as old and as rich in history as this was an absolute pleasure. The Abbey Mill has been around since the 12th Century and is an integral part of Tewkesbury’s history.

We were tasked with cleaning the cladding on the north faced side of the mill. It had gone green due to lack of sunlight and also being so close to the water. You can see from the pictures, access was not easy. Hovering over the river while cleaning the cladding should seem safer than hovering over concrete but for some reason it didn’t feel that way. The Hinowa 20.10 was really put to its limits on this job, but as you can see, we got the job done and had some great results! There would have been absolutely no other way of completing the job. We happened to beat the floods by 24 hours as the following afternoon the entire road was submerged underwater. A close call, but a job well done.

St George’s Church (Nailsworth)

We were contacted by the church as we had been recommended to them. Due to the age of the tiles, we manually scraped the moss from the roof using blades and wire brushes all from the reach of the Hinowa Spider lift. It was a challenge taking the machine down the main high street and getting it up to the back of the church but it’s the challenges that make the job far more rewarding once complete.

All moss was removed, gutters were cleared and a HSE approved biocide treatment was applied. It is killing off the remaining layer of bio film on the roof as we speak 🙂 Hard work, but we enjoyed this one!

The House on the Hill, Banbury

Another beautiful and historic building that we had the pleasure of working on earlier this year was this stunning 16th Century house in Banbury. We spent the best part of a week using wire brushes to safely remove the moss from this old slate roof. The condition of the roof was a concern and we were accompanied by an architect throughout the project to check on the integrity of the roof in all areas. We assisted him by getting to hard to view and reach areas so he could comprise a report for the client and see which steps are next. It was agreed that the first and most important step was to remove the moss that had built up for decades to have a better understanding of what lies underneath.

After all moss was removed, a biocide treatment was applied and we shall be returning in a few months time to check on the progress of the chemicals and see how much it has brightened up the slate.

Banbury, Oxfordshire

This client reached out as they had seen our work online and wanted us to travel especially to carry out the work. One of our more drastic transformations on a roof and this is due to the fact we softwashed the roof, which means instant results on the day. Although a property of this size did take us more than one day!

We had two scaffolding towers on this property with Joe and Ollie racing eachother to see who could beat who! Joe had the west side and Ollie had the east. The drone shots of this property mid clean show just how incredible the transformation was.

We were even there on Boxing Day to ensure the job was all completed and tidied up. The client was away for the holidays.

Our access equipment

We use a varied approach to how we access your roof or hard to reach areas on your property for say render cleaning or gutter cleaning.

Typically we will be opting to use our Hinowa 20.10 Spider lift or one of our compact Scaffolding towers.

The Hinowa 20.10 Spider lift is a compact machine that can be narrowed to as little as 800mm in width so that it can go through a standard sized garden gate. Yet, it will also reach a staggering 21 metres in the air. It has an outreach of 9.7 metres meaning we can usually hook over the front of your roof to gain access to the rear. The machine is also on tracks, meaning it can travel in rough terrain. We have ground mats to place on your grass to ensure we don’t damage it. The machine levels itself automatically so it can go on any uneven surface. We have attached a technical data sheet for the machine below in case you would like to find out more details.   I’d just like to say that I have been more than impressed with how George handled my enquiry from the outset and took the time to come out and look at my house. He was clear and as far as I’m concerned Joe and George over delivered on what was promised. I couldn’t believe amount of muck that came off my roof and how meticulous the guys were with ensuring that my house was spotless after the job finished. The equipment that these guys have invested in to carry out the work is astounding. And they didn’t stop ONCE throughout the day!! I can’t sing their praises highly enough.   Having never had a roof cleaned and little knowledge of price or options, I offered our job on a website that automatically contacted local businesses. In came all the phone calls and emails, and received a number of extortionate quotes and some describing very questionable cleaning methods that would make a health and safety manager have a heart attack, but thankfully, George at G.E.C. also got in touch. A pleasure to communicate with from the outset, fantastic knowledge and explanation of options for the cleaning of our roof, in a zero-pressure, relaxed and extremely polite manner. - All this coupled with a really competitive quote. The work that has been done is genuinely fantastic and the team that came round were as professional and friendly as George himself, explaining what they were going to do from the outset and cleaning up every inch of roof dirt that was left on the ground before departure, as well as cleaning the fascias and gutters. Neighbour was blown away by the difference it made, and following a discussion with him of my experience with G.E.C., he ending up booking them the week after!
