20 metre Spider Lift

We never have a need to stand on the roof as we own a Hinowa 20.10 Spider lift. This machine has a base that is only 800mm wide and can fit through a standard garden gate. Yet it can still reach a staggering 20 metres in the air, enabling us to carry out roof cleans on a wide variety of properties.

Preparation & Experience

No, if the contractor knows what they are doing and have identified the correct approach to cleaning your roof. If they don’t know what they are doing, then your roof can very easily be damaged I’m afraid.

If your roof is in need of cleaning, then the coating is already gone. A roof coating typically lasts 15 years from new. If moss and algae has already formed on this coating then it is too late. In most cases, you won’t have any excessive growth within the first 15 years anyway, so this won’t be applicable to most.

Gloucestershire has become a lot less industrialised in the last two decades. Factories shutting down and the air becoming a lot cleaner has encouraged moss growth. This is a good thing! (Moss on the roof not so much) But the clean air will certainly do us all some good.

Fortunately, we bag up all of the waste on the day and take it all away with us. Other contractors don’t offer this, but we think it dampens the experience if you are left with 15 big bags of wet sludge and are trying to get rid of it for weeks on end.

He was clear and as far as I’m concerned Joe and George over delivered on what was promised. I couldn’t believe amount of muck that came off my roof and how meticulous the guys were with ensuring that my house was spotless after the job finished.   Having never had a roof cleaned and little knowledge of price or options, I offered our job on a website that automatically contacted local businesses. In came all the phone calls and emails, and received a number of extortionate quotes and some describing very questionable cleaning methods that would make a health and safety manager have a heart attack, but thankfully, George at G.E.C. also got in touch. A pleasure to communicate with from the outset, fantastic knowledge and explanation of options for the cleaning of our roof, in a zero-pressure, relaxed and extremely polite manner. - All this coupled with a really competitive quote.
